BOARD RESULTS
1. AS A RESULT OF THE 96TH
AIR FORCE UNIFORM BOARD, THE CHIEF OF STAFF OF THE AIR FORCE DIRECTED REVIEW OF
THE INFORMAL UNIFORM. THE INTENT WAS TO STANDARDIZE THE UNIFORM ACROSS ALL
CAREER FIELDS CURRENTLY AUTHORIZED TO WEAR AN INFORMAL UNIFORM. EFFECTIVE
IMMEDIATELY, COMMANDERS MAY AUTHORIZE ALL APPLICABLE AIR FORCE PERSONNEL TO
BEGIN WEARING THE AIR FORCE’S INFORMAL UNIFORM. THE AIR FORCE’S INFORMAL
UNIFORM WILL BE MANDATORY FOR WEAR BY ALL APPLICABLE AIR FORCE PERSONNEL
STARTING 1 JANUARY 2011.

POLO-STYLE:

SHORT-SLEEVE, DARK BLUE
B.
LONG-SLEEVE, DARK BLUE
C.
“US AIR FORCE” CONTEMPORARY LOGO ON FRONT, UPPER LEFT CHEST

WHITE FUNCTIONAL IDENTIFICATION (MONOGRAM) ON THE LEFT SLEEVE (SHORT AND
LONG) ABOVE ELBOW
1) “USAF HONOR GUARD” OR “BASE HONOR GUARD”
2) “USAF BAND” OR “REGIONAL BAND”
3) “USAF RECRUITER”
4) “USAF CHAPLAIN” OR “CHAPLAIN ASSISTANT”
5) “FITNESS CENTER STAFF,” “HAWC,” OR “WORLD-CLASS ATHLETE”
6) ENLISTED AIDES WILL NOT HAVE AN IDENTIFIER

6. BELT WILL BE BLACK WITH
SILVER CLASP.
7. THE FOLLOWING HEADGEAR
MAY BE WORN; HOWEVER, NOT INDOORS:
A. DARK BLUE WATCH CAP
WITH “USAF” LOGO
B. DARK BLUE BASEBALL
CAP WITH “USAF” LOGO
8. SOCKS WILL BE BLACK IN
COLOR.
9. NAMETAGS WILL BE BRUSHED
SILVER WITH RANK AND LAST NAME.
10. OCCUPATIONAL BADGES ARE
OPTIONAL FOR WEAR.
A. CENTERED 1/2 INCH ABOVE THE NAMETAG
11. A DARK BLUE JACKET, WITH
A REMOVABLE FLEECE LINER, AND A SMALL “USAF” LOGO ON THE FRONT (ON WEARER'S
UPPER LEFT CHEST).
12. PERSONAL GROOMING AND
ACCESSORY STANDARDS WILL REMAIN IN ACCORDANCE WITH AFI 36-2903.
13. INFORMAL UNIFORM ITEMS
WILL BE PROCURED THROUGH THE LOCAL PURCHASE PROGRAM.
