MEMORANDUM FOR MADE A MISTAKE, AMN,
FR123-45-6789
FROM: 4 XXX/CC
SUBJECT: Letter of Reprimand - Favoritism / Preferential Treatment
1. It has been brought to my attention that you are giving preferential
treatment to specific
individuals under your command. Specifically, you are selectively tasking
primary projects to
particular individuals. All members under your control should be treated fairly
and given the
same opportunities to excel.
2. “Promotion Fitness Examination (PFE) Study Guide”, AFPAM

AFI
36-2903, PROFESSIONAL AND UNPROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIPS states:
7.5. Air Force Standards.
Air
Force standards of conduct, discipline, and customs and courtesies reflect the
Air
Force’s
broad heritage and traditions. Air Force leaders not only must know these
standards, they must also enforce them. While current Department of Defense and
Air
Force
policies provide specific guidance on standards, leaders need to be familiar
with the
following areas:
7.5.6. Professional Relationships.
To have an effective operation, the Air Force must have professional
relationships
among its members. In all supervisory situations, professional relationships
must
support the mission and operational effectiveness of the Air Force. Officers and
NCOs must make sure their personal relationships with coworkers and
subordinates do not give the appearance of favoritism or impropriety. Excessive
socialization and undue familiarity, real or perceived, degrade leadership.
3. You are hereby reprimanded. You have engaged in aberrant behavior which
will not be
tolerated from a member of the United States Air Force. Your past behavior has
raised serious
questions about your ability to remain in the United States Air Force.
Professional relationships
are essential to the effective operation of the Air Force. In all supervisory
situations there must
be a true professional relationship supportive of the mission and operational
effectiveness of the
Air Force. Officers and NCOs must make sure their personal relationships with
members for
whom they exercise a supervisory responsibility, or whose duties or assignments
they are in a
position to influence, do not give the appearance of favoritism, preferential
treatment, or
impropriety. Excessive socialization and undue familiarity, real or perceived,
degrades
leadership and interferes with command authority and mission effectiveness. It
is very important
that the conduct of every commander and supervisor, both on and off duty,
reflects
professionalism.
