SUBJECT: Letter of Reprimand - Theft
1. Investigation has disclosed that on or about 1 June
2007, at your place of residence, you issued a check to the landlord for
an unspecified amount. You dishonorably failed to maintain sufficient funds in
your checking account to pay such check. In accordance with AFI 36-2906,
Personal Financial Responsibility, military members are required to pay their
just financial obligations in a proper and timely manner. You violated Article
123a of the UCMJ; Making, drawing, or uttering check, draft, or order without
sufficient funds.
2. You are hereby reprimanded. Your financial irresponsibility makes it
impossible for you to be mentally ready to accomplish the mission. AFI 36-2618
states, “[Financial Problems] can prevent individuals from focusing on the
mission, diminish motivation, erode a positive attitude, and reduce the quality
of work. All of this negatively impacts mission accomplishment.”
You will immediately contact the Family Support Center and
schedule financial management education. I expect you to contact your creditors
and discuss payment options. Your conduct is unacceptable and any future
misconduct may result in more severe action.
3. PRIVACY ACT. AUTHORITY: 10 U.S.C. 8013. PURPOSE:
To obtain any comments
or documents you desire to submit (on a voluntary basis) for consideration
concerning this
action. ROUTINE USES: Provides you an opportunity to submit comments or
documents for
consideration. If provided, the comments and documents you submit become a part
of the action.
DISCLOSURE: Your written acknowledgment of receipt and signature is
mandatory. Any
other comment or document you provide is voluntary.
4. You will acknowledge receipt and return this letter to me within 3
workdays of your receipt.
Your signature on this document is solely for receipt purposes and is not an
admission of guilt.
Any comments or documents you wish to be considered concerning this LOR must be
included
with your response.
