SUBJECT: Letter of Reprimand - Theft
1. On or about 6 Apr 03, you were found
in the possession of a U.S. Flag that had been stolen
from a TSgt James Grecco, whom you Sublette a room from. When asked about the
flag, which
was hanging on your wall, you said it was a gift from a friend. After being
asked a second time
about the flag, you admitted that it was TSgt Grecco’s and that you had removed
it from his
house when you were moving out. Your conduct is a violation of Uniform Code of
Justice
(UCMJ), Article 121, Larceny and wrongful appropriation.
2. You are hereby reprimanded. You have engaged in aberrant behavior which
will not be
tolerated from a member of the United States Air Force. Your past behavior has
raised serious
questions about your ability to remain in the United States Air Force.
Wrongfully appropriating
TSgt Grecco’s property is a crime. I will not tolerate theft by anyone in this
organization. By
your conduct, you created animosity within our squadron and damaged our unit’s
mission
capabilities. Additionally, your misconduct has brought discredit upon yourself.
In addition to
this LOR, an Unfavorable Information File will be opened and you will be placed
on the Control
Roster. I expect you to never repeat such unpardonable behavior. Should you
decide not to heed
this warning, harsher punishment will be forthcoming.
3. PRIVACY ACT. AUTHORITY: 10 U.S.C. 8013. PURPOSE:
To obtain any comments
or documents you desire to submit (on a voluntary basis) for consideration
concerning this
action. ROUTINE USES: Provides you an opportunity to submit comments or
documents for
consideration. If provided, the comments and documents you submit become a part
of the action.
DISCLOSURE: Your written acknowledgment of receipt and signature is
mandatory. Any
other comment or document you provide is voluntary.
4. You will acknowledge receipt and return this letter to me within 3
workdays of your receipt.
Your signature on this document is solely for receipt purposes and is not an
admission of guilt.
Any comments or documents you wish to be considered concerning this LOR must be
included
with your response.
