Dear First
Thank you for your support of the ##rd
Fighter Squadron during Cornet Mercury, and Central
Enterprize-’94. Once again your personal efforts and the collective efforts of
every member on
this deployment demonstrated the “CAN DO” concept is alive and well! Because of
your hard
work, attention to detail, and dedicated teamwork, we made Coronet Mercury into
what I think
was one of the most successful deployment this wing has ever seen.
Where in many cases we operated without the benefit of a script from previous
deployments, and
without the lessons learned from our last deployment to Aviano, this proved to
be an opportunity
for individual effort and personal achievement for many people to successfully
deploy eight F-
16s and the entire support package. While in country, we were able to sustain
twelve Air
Defense and Offensive Counter Air sorties daily in support of Central
Enterprise-’94. And when
it was all over, we successfully redeployed all eight aircraft and the 200+
people that made it
happen!
I fully understand that while this was a great deployment, not everything was
perfect. I thank you
for your candid remarks, and again I make the same promise to you that I have in
the past; that
we will take these plus’s and delta’s, use the quality tools we have learned,
improve the process,
and make the next deployment even better than Coronet Mercury.
Again thank you for your hard work and team effort!
