Dear [Employer]:
As the commander of the
[unit name], I would
like to personally thank
you for your efforts in providing exceptional support to
[Rank First Last] who voluntarily
serves in the United States Air Force Reserves.
Defending Americans against the threat of terrorism has
been a national priority since the
tragic events of September 11, 2001, and the Air Force Reserve has been one of
our nation's
primary lines of defense. The Air Force Reserve has contributed to missions like
Operation
Enduring Freedom, Operation Noble Eagle and Operation Iraqi Freedom. This is why
it is
extremely important that [Rank Last] attend weekend drills and annual training.
It provides [him/her] the necessary training and
skills to be prepared for the battlefield of the 21st century.
Weekend drills consist of more than just training on
leading edge technology for mobile
communications. It also includes learning organizational, human relations, time,
and conflict
management skills, just to mention a few. The objective is to have a well
rounded combat
warrior, with exceptional leadership, management and technical skills ready to
handle any
situation on the battlefield and in today’s ever changing environment.
As a manager myself, I understand that Reserve military
duty commitments may cause
undue hardship for your business. Your continued support and cooperation are
greatly
appreciated, and are vital to the defense of our nation. The Reserve force
relies on an active
partnership with civilian employers to allow Reservists to serve their country.
I can assure you [Rank Last]'s military experience will
benefit both your organization and our country.
Sincerely,
[FIRST M.. LAST], [Rank], USAFR
