MANDATORY OPENING SENTENCE:
Major John S. Doe distinguished himself by gallantry in connection with military
operations against (an armed enemy of the United States) OR (an opposing armed

NARRATIVE:
(On that date) OR (During this period), while leading a flight of fighter
aircraft flying top cover for twenty-three bombers, Major Doe observed enemy jet
fighters attacking the formation. With complete disregard for his personal
safety, Major Doe let his element against the two lead aircraft of the enemy
formation and shot down the enemy flight leader. This courageous and aggressive
attack against superior odds disorganized the remaining enemy pilots who
retreated in confusion.
MANDATORY CLOSING SENTENCE:
By his gallantry and devotion to duty, Major Doe has reflected great credit upon
himself and the United States Air Force.
For Posthumous Award:
By his gallantry and devotion to duty in the dedication of his service
to his country, Major Jones has reflected great credit upon himself and the
United States Air Force.

NOTE 1: No more than 10 lines when using 12 Pt Font for the SS
