Key Points to Writing
- WRITE!!! The more you do it, the better you get.
- Ask for HELP, the only person looking out
for #1 is you.
- Use a spell checker. F7 works well in MS Word.
- Use Merriam-Webster Online
to improve your vocabulary.

The following civilian award example has been taken from an AF1206 - IMT so the formatting
might be off. I did not changed mission information,
only names to protect myself and the
people I have received the information from. If
you have anything you would like to
submit, please do so.
If
you have found this information useful, please let me know. Everyone of these
letters has taken considerable amount of time to put together. Please
treat yourself to something special from one of the ads on the page. We
will both get something out of it. (Money gathered pays for
hosting and domain fees plus site growth items. HONESTLY, when I see money come in it also
prompts me to work harder on the site.)

NOTE:
I have a slanted view of this package. There are way too many
spelling errors, take the time
and run spell check. The structure is off as well but this is easily over
looked because it is a Civilian package (Use
Bullet Writing
(PPT developed at Brooks) as an education tool). With that said, there
should still be a space separating the dash from the first letter of the bullet.
Also, many of the sentances are passive. Active verbs would greatly
enhance the overall read ability of the award. Further dissecting the award
package, there are a couple of numbering
issues but they are minor (the numbers should have been spelled out).
Also, STRATCOM is actually
USSTRATCOM and the COCOM ought to be identified appropriately. Final note, not all packages need to be well
written or winners. The fact the individual was recognized is the most
important aspect of the award system. |
