Key Points to Writing If you haven't already, take a writing class WRITE!!! The more you do it, the better you get. Don't be afraid to ask for HELP. The only person looking out for either you or your subordinate is YOU! Use a spell checker (F7 in Office)  Remember, writing doesn't have to win to REWARD! Use various writing resources like Merriam-Webster Online.

The following example has been taken out of a IMT document.  I have changed mission information to protect myself and the people I have received the information from.  I will attempt to give a little insight to the entire process if I know it.

LEADERSHIP AND JOB PERFORMANCE IN PRIMARY DUTY:
- Outstanding analyst--member of elite supply functional team hand picked to provide direct test support to the
  contractor developed Enterprise Solution-Supply system--first ever cross platform system to bring wholesale/
  retail asset visibility and ordering to the warfighter in real time--pioneering enterprise solutions for the future
   -- Performed critical functional system tests against 40 test plans, identified 23 critical software defects
   -- Meticulous testing and indepth defect documentation ensures warfighter requirements are 100 percent met
- Instrumental in the migration of 230 software test cases from the developer's Rational Tool to Test Director
  --successfully imported all data in original format with no loss of data for use by MSG and SSG--great job!
- Coordinated all necessary actions to provide local SSG, MSG and contract developer users access to six 
  platforms and three database libraries located in three separate states--ensured configuration control of all 
  aspects of the test environment allowing all users flexibility to work where needed--skilled database manager!
- Developed 20 test plans to correct legacy system deficiency reports--fixed mid to low priority defects that had 
  manual work around's expending sorely needed field level man-hours--August release praised by users!

SIGNIFICANT SELF-IMPROVEMENT:
- Enrolled in the Senior NCO Academy correspondence course--successfully completed two of the five tests

- Accumulated 58 credit hours towards Community College of AF degree--only two more classes to graduation!

- Active Top 3 member--donated time to work with adopt a mile program--boosted community spirit and kinship
  -- Selfless volunteer--filled golf bags for the Air Force Information Technology Conference golf tournament
  -- Provided SNCO prospective to Company Grade Officer Training School officer's as a MSgt select
- Appreciates sacrifice of others--participated on the flag folding team for retirements of two retiring members
- Strong participant in division farewell and retirement programs--always volunteers to work where needed

Note:

  Overall this is a good package.  The biggest problem with this package is bullet structure.  the first bullet cluster is a super bullet, 5 lines!  Looking at it, maybe it should have been two bullets to highlight each of the achievements.  Some of the other bullets read like sentences.  the biggest clue to this is when you read "that" or "which" in a bullet...  It is time to re-write it.   Besides those minor problems a good package.
